Join The Team
Nottinghamshire Emergency Scout Support Team are looking for more enthusiastic people to join the team who have:
- Commitment, motivation, good health and an understanding boss and family.
- Navigation and first aid skills and an ability to work in a disciplined team.
- Transportation & warm walking clothing.
We are always keen to meet people interested in joining the team from all across Nottinghamshire, which is the area we normally work in. We do on occasions work outside Nottinghamshire- having done events as far a field as Scotland, but this is not very often.
Reasons to get involved:
We are a team of men and women with varied backgrounds who share a love of scouting, camping & outdoor activities. There are no supermen and the activities of the team are well within the capabilities of the keen, fit walker. The strength of the team lies in the way that we work together in a spirit of friendship and mutual support.
NESST help local charities & organisations be providing marshals, radio communications, first aid cover and public address. We have in the past provided a 24 hour control room for scout/guide camps, where there can be upwards of 5000 people on the site
We are on the Nottinghamshire County Council and Nottinghamshire Police emergency call out list, to assist in adverse weather and searches & other such incidents. This can be at short notice.
If you are still interested in joining the team, please complete an application form which can be downloaded here. If you have any questions, please drop us an email.
